Three intertwined stories meet around Robin's suspicions about Barney's relationship with Patrice, Ted's annoyance at his friends for borrowing and never returning his things and a tryst between parents.

Ted keeps stealing all of Marvins first moments from Marshall and Lily. Robin tries to seduce Barney.

Marshall recaps the most ridiculous (but thanks to Brad, hilarious) court case to the Judicial Panel that's evaluating him to be a Judge. The gang argues over who was the biggest bad-ass in high school. Barney closes the door on the possibility of romance with Robin.

Ted is called out as having no original Stamp of Approval takes. Robin helps Barney hunt for a new strip club, agent style. Brad is back and needs a job, Marshall mistakenly gives his stamp.

We reach the last breakup in the Autumn of...Barney pushes Robin along in dissolving the Nick relationship. Ted and Marshal are on seperate basketball teams in with distinct challenges. Lily's living in a vicarious sexual fantasy world after having the baby.

As the breakups continue, Victoria leaves the show after an ultimatum to Ted. Barney is so desperate for a wing-man he turns to the canine pursuasion. We learn more about Nick, although the title warns us he won't be around long.

Now that Lily and Marshall have a Nanny, they leave the house to enjoy the city just to realize it's a crazy deathtrap. To figure out which of their friends should be godparent to little Marvin (lets face it, it should just be Ted), they host a gameshow to find the best fit.

While Marshall and Lily struggle to find an affordable Nanny, Barney grabs their best option from under their noses and Ted/Robin compete over who has the best relationship.

Artillary Arthur convinces Barney he needs a pre-nup to protect himself in his upcoming marriage. This sets off a domino effect that fractures all of the relationships in the show but only one ends in a break-up. We also get to meet Tug Boat.

We resume with Ted and Victoria's escape from her wedding whereby they clash over the necesity of leaving a note. Quinn finds out about Barney and Robin's past because Marshall and Lily's lack of sleep have rendered them zombies. We meet Robin's new boyfriend with rock hard abs.

Barney stages an elaborate airport magic trick to propose to Quinn; Ted reconnects with Victoria on her wedding day; Marshall and Lily struggle with the exhaustion of being new parents while Robin tries to capture a nice family photo.

Lily goes into labor while Barney tries to guide Marshall on a drunken journey home from Atlantic City. Ted and Robin retell old stories from the writers cutting room floor to distract Lily from her pain. Marvin is born.

Ted tries online dating but keeps running into imaginary Robin. Barney takes Marshall to Atlantic City to get him out of Lily's hair for a weekend.

Barney wants to make every night legendary. Robin wants notoriety. Marshall wants to know who Lily is having sex dreams about.

The men of the show plot out their lives and future expectations in three year cycles to align with rewatching Episodes 4-7 of Star Wars.

In a clever ruse, Barney and Quinn set up the gang to believe they've ruined their relationship. Robin and Ted squable over Quinns apartment and Marshall retells ill advised sex stories about him and Lily.

Barney has the tables turned on him when he decides to court Quinn/Karma and gets gaslighted and his pockets emptied. Robin becomes more captor than guest while staying with Marshall and Lily in Long Island.

Barney and Ted uncover a new venue for picking up women even though Barney may have found love already (aka we meet Quinn). The couples go on a trip to Vermont where Kevin proposes to Robin, requiring her to reveal her inability and disinterest in having children.

The entire episode takes place on Long Island at the new Erikson home where Barney plays with fire, Coots catches on fire and Robin tries to turn the fire down on her temper.

Without Marshall and Lily in the city anymore, the Manhattan gang find temporary, scary replacements. Lily and Marshall struggle with the intricacies of their new house with bizarre assistnance from Mickey who has worn out his welcome.

At his father's gravesite, Marshall recaps adventures of NYE, where Lily informs Mickey about being pregnant, Ted and Barney open Puzzles in Ted's apartment and Robin gets an on-air position thanks to another Sandy mishap.

Robin's journey through learning she can't have children, told to her fictional future children. Marshall's journey through getting pranked by kids in his new neighborhood.

Lily and Marshall decide they want to keep the Long Island home and move in, Robin decides to #Resist. Barney and Ted contemplate starting a family together.
